Pembangunan SPALD-T Skala Permukiman di Dua Lokasi Rampung

Residential Scale SPALD-T Construction in Two Locations Completed

The Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA) has completed the construction of a Residential Scale Centralized Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALD-T) in two locations last year.

Residential scale SPALD will later manage waterwaste from residents' homes

One location uses a residential scale Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALD) and the other uses a SPALD interceptor system.

Wastewater Management Facilities and Infrastructure Development Subgroup Chair, Robby Dwi Mariansyah said residential scale SPALD has 700 cubic meters capacity per day with a pipe network of around 800 house connections. Principally, the wastewater from residents' homes is centralized in a special storage area which also serves as a processing site, while the SPALD interceptor has 250 cubic meters capacity.

Heru Supports Acceleration of Wastewater Pipeline Networks Construction

"Residential scale SPALD will later manage waterwaste from residents' homes. Then the SPALD interceptor in another location will cacth and manage wastewater from the water channel, so it is not categorized as a house connection," he expressed, Wednesday (1/10).

He explained the results from the wastewater treatment only reached the raw water level. It means that it is not yet suitable for consumption, bathing, and washing dishes.

"The raw water produced from SPALD-T can only be used for example for watering plants, washing cars or water needs for fighting fires," he explained.

He added the budget for the construction of SPALD-T in these two locations was Rp 14 billion.

"After the maintenance period, the SDA Sub-agencies in each region will manage it," he added.

Here are two locations of Residential Scale SPALD-T completed in 2023:

1. Around Melati Reservoir Pump House, Central Jakarta (interceptor)

2. Tanah Tinggi Flats, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta (house connection)
